This probably isn’t my first rodeo picnic trip with the SMUX Kayaking Team, but it was probably the first that we did not actually step into the water at all for our kayaking + picnic trip.

A supposed bi-annual affair that helps to bring together kayakers as well as new birds to the brood and welcoming them to casually-fun sport and the family-fun friends that comes along with the package.

Apparently, the weather was especially trying on us on this very Sunday we had all decided to make time to come together, but at the very last minute when we were all about to launch our kayaks into the Kallang River, the CAT1 siren rang up due to the sudden changes in weather and we had to shore back up.

Thankfully, plans were meant to be executed and we continued a casual picnic session at the launching bay. Though a non-conventional way of having our brunch session, it was nonetheless filled with joy as old friends come together and we share new jokes and experiences as time flew past.

Ultimately, the weather did not turn for the better after a 2-hour wait, but we still continued to hangout like old SMUX days and just chill out together at the nearby mall.
